Filmmaker / Director/ Doctoral Student
Shonda Carter grew up an Air Force Brat and spent much of her childhood exploring the world from a different perspective. After her salvation experience in her mid-thirties, she became intimately aware of how untold stories can lead to confusion and misinformation, sparking an interest in women in the Bible. After spending her time "catching up" by reading as much as she could and studying Theology, Spiritual Formation, and Spiritual Direction. Instead, pursuing a well-known route of pastor or teacher, Shonda decided to incorporate her filmmaking skills for the purpose of "reclaiming the arts for God." Her passion in wanting to explore God's stories and her academic interest in God wants us to learn led her to start working on a series of documentaries, Michal being the first.
